Airlines’ revs blocked in Nigeria down 50 pct from June-trade group – Reuters

MONTREAL, Sept 27 (Reuters) – The value of ticket sales revenue owed to foreign airlines in Nigeria has been reduced by 50 percent to $246 million since June, and talks continue toward settling the remaining amount, International Air Transport Association spokeswoman Mona Aubin said on Tuesday.

In June, the airline trade group said airline revenue worth $5 billion was being blocked by countries with tight currency exchange rate controls, with Nigeria withholding $591 million.
